The privateAlumni Association (GUAA) held a virtual Charter Day program on Saturday, April 9. They marked Gallaudet鈥檚 158th birthday, then announced the winners of the GUAA awards for 2022, as follows:

• Outstanding Young Alumnus Award: Victorica Monroe, 鈥�15 & G-鈥�20
• Advocacy for Social Justice Award (originally named the Gertrude S. Galloway, 鈥�51, PhD 鈥�93, & H-鈥�02 Advocacy and Social Justice Award): Dr. Poorna Kushalnagar, 鈥�93
• Above and Beyond Volunteer Award (originally named the Pauline 鈥淧olly鈥� Peikoff, E-鈥�36 鈥淪ervice to Others鈥� Award): Dr. Barbara J. White, 鈥�76

Members of the GUAA Clerc Cultural Fund also took part in the program, describing their new suite of awards beginning in 2023.
