More accolades for Dr. Carolyn McCaskill
Dr. Carolyn McCaskill, ’77, G-’79, & PhD ’05, was featured last week on medium.com, a website with more than 80 million viewers worldwide. Edward Sylvan, chief executive officer of Sycamore Entertainment Group, conducted a with Dr. McCaskill. In this interview, Dr. McCaskill discusses her life story, career, research on Black American Sign Language, favorite books, the person she most wants to meet for breakfast, important quotations, her thoughts on leadership, and more.

Dr. McCaskill is co-author, with Dr. Ceil Lucas, Dr. Joseph Hill, and Dr. Robert Bayley, of The Hidden Treasure of Black ASL.
Dr. McCaskill also has been named to the Alabama School for the Deaf Hall of Fame. She is one of six members of the Hall’s Class of 2022. Her selection was based on education and leadership; the other five inductees are being honored for their athletic achievements. The formal induction ceremony will be held during the summer of 2022. Congratulations, Dr. McCaskill!
