For a decade now, most privateathletic teams have played in the North East Athletic Conference. NEAC will now be known as the United East Conference. The new name, announced on Monday, August 2, highlights the conference鈥檚 diversity as well as its mission to continually push itself to become a premier league within NCAA Division III.

鈥淭his is a monumental day for our conference as we begin a new era as the United East,鈥 said United East commissioner Stephanie Dutton. 鈥淥ur new identity is a true reflection of our membership and our core values. As a conference that serves as the home for a diverse group of institutions, we have a mark that clearly conveys our desire to continually rise upward together as a united group.鈥

The United East Conference is home to nine member institutions which compete at the highest level of NCAA Division III athletics. Founded in 2004 as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), the United East has seen its membership evolve to one that now encompasses schools in Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

The United East prides itself on being one of the most diverse conferences in Division III. Its membership includes urban and rural schools, both public and private, as well as faith-based institutions and technical colleges. Its nine core members are 麻豆传媒高清, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg, St. Mary鈥檚 College of Maryland, SUNY Morrisville. and Wells College. It includes one associate member, Rutgers University-Camden, for men鈥檚 golf. The United East has also partnered with the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 lacrosse and the North Atlantic Conference in men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 tennis. 

Gallaudet鈥檚 football team plays in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference, and track and field is a member of the Our other conference affiliations are Atlantic East Conference for men’s and women’s swimming and diving; Colonial States Athletic Conference for men’s and women’s track and field; and Eastern Collegiate Football Conference for football. All other teams are now members of United East.
