Keivonn Woodard featured in Washingtonian Magazine
On July 12, Kendall Demonstration Elementary School student Keivonn Montreal Woodard was nominated for an Emmy for his performance in the HBO series The Last of Us. Woodard is one of six nominees in the Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series, and, at age 10, is the youngest person ever nominated in this category. He is also the first Black Deaf actor in the history of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to be nominated for an Emmy.
Washingtonian Magazine took note of Woodard鈥檚 accomplishment in its September 2023 issue, including him in their 鈥淕uest List鈥 feature, 鈥渁 monthly roundup of people we鈥檇 like to have over for drinks, food, and conversation.鈥 Woodard is in good company, sitting at a table with novelist Deborah Kalb, U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, restaurateur Rose Previte, and high school track star Tinoda Matsatsa.
